Introduction
Adkins Labs (a sole proprietorship of Edward McNichols) ("Adkins Labs," "we," "us," or "our") operates ForkScore, a recipe discovery, capture, and sharing platform available at forkscore.ai and through mobile applications on iOS and Android (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using ForkScore, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider, Supabase Auth. You may also sign in via third-party providers (e.g., Google, Apple), in which case we receive the profile information you authorize those providers to share.
User-Generated Content
We store recipes you save, collections you create, comments, ratings, votes, and any other content you submit through the Service. This includes recipes imported via URL, AI-extracted recipes, and manually created recipes.
URLs and Video Data
When you submit a URL from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or other websites for recipe extraction, we process that URL and its publicly available content (such as video transcripts and page metadata) to generate a recipe. We store the source URL alongside the extracted recipe.
Payment Information
If you subscribe to ForkScore Pro or make in-app purchases, payment processing is handled by Stripe (web) or Apple/Google (in-app). We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or bank account details. We receive and store a transaction identifier, your subscription status, and billing history metadata.
Referral and Earnings Data
If you participate in our referral or partner/affiliate program, we collect and store referral codes, referral relationships, earnings balances, and payout information necessary to operate those programs.
Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain technical data when you use the Service, including IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and interaction timestamps. We use analytics tools to understand usage patterns and improve the Service.
How We Use Your Information

- Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, subscription receipts)
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and bot activity using Cloudflare Turnstile
- Analyze usage trends and improve user experience
- Comply with legal obligations
AI Processing
ForkScore uses artificial intelligence services provided by Anthropic (Claude) to extract recipe information from URLs and video transcripts you submit. When you request a recipe extraction, the URL and its publicly available content are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. We do not send your personal account information (name, email) to AI providers as part of recipe extraction requests.
AI-generated recipes may not be perfectly accurate. You are responsible for verifying ingredients, quantities, and cooking instructions before use, especially regarding allergens and dietary restrictions.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use the following cookies and similar technologies:
- Authentication cookies: Essential cookies that maintain your login session. These are strictly necessary for the Service to function.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: Used to distinguish humans from bots and protect against automated abuse. This may set cookies on your device.
- Analytics: We use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the Service, including page views, feature usage, and session duration.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using certain features of the Service.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers (sub-processors): We use the third-party services listed below to operate ForkScore. Each receives only the data necessary to perform its function and is bound by a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) where applicable.
- Public content: Recipes, collections, comments, ratings, and profile information you choose to make public are visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Adkins Labs, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction. Successors are bound by the then-current privacy commitments to user data.

We update this list when we add or remove sub-processors. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
Data Retention
We retain your account information and user-generated content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, financial records).
Payment records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and financial reporting obligations.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), encrypted database storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
Your Rights (GDPR — European Economic Area)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

Our legal bases for processing include: performance of contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (improving the Service, fraud prevention), consent (marketing communications), and legal obligations. Your Rights (CCPA — California Residents)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) provide you with additional rights:

- Right to delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale/sharing: We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children's Privacy
ForkScore is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@forkscore.ai and we will delete it promptly.
International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data during international transfers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
